Badges, helmets, buttons and even motorcycle boots have been sold on the website.
There are currently 134 listings under ‘West Midlands Police’ on eBay including a police helmet being sold for £65 that even comes with handcuffs and a key.
People can also pick up a pocket watch for £17.99 or special force uniform buttons for just £1.99 as well as a cap badge priced at £1.25.
Many of the items up for sale include ‘obsolete’ badges with one priced at £6.99 and old-style helmets, including one for £39.
West Midlands Police have now admitted they are ‘alarmed’ at the amount of goods being sold on eBay.
Chief Superintendent Andrew Nicholson, head of Professional Standards at the force, said one officer was caught selling his motorcycle boots online.
Writing in an online blog, he added: “A number of years ago an officer was kitted out and attended a police motorcycle course.
‘Having been issued several hundred pounds of uniform, he promptly failed the course.
Anonymous information recently came into PSD (Professional Standards Department) that the officer had sold his motor bike boots on eBay.
‘During the investigation he was completely open about what had happened and stated that he was told by stores that the kit was personal issue and of no value to the organisation.
